100% not as good as ferrofluid - cheap imitation made with iron filings, oil & neodymium magnets.

So I saw some videos of ferrofluids and wondered if I could do something similar on the cheap. So I sawed a bit of metal for a bit, collected the metal dust that it produced and dunked them in a bottle filled with oil (hoping this might stop it rusting - doubt it will as I used olive oil, hah!). Used my neodymium magnets to create the effect (£5 for 20 off Amazon). Hardest bit was making the filings, if you already have them this is a 2 minute make.
