Climate change is an ever growing issue in Pacific Island countries. Deforestation or cutting down trees is one of the main causes of climate change. Few problems arising due to deforestation are increase in global temperature and sea level rise. OISCA Fiji funded by the Japanese government is trying to encourage environmental education among schools, communities and villagers to counter climate change issues. The initiative is to advocate villagers and young school children to learn about conservation principles. The Children's Forest Program provides students to learn about environment sustainability and tree planting activities. The organization wishes to instill these values into the young generation to make them better ambassadors and future environment conservationist.
