Green Motoring Clean Cities Detroit Metro Cars

A ground transportation provider in southeast Michigan is at the forefront of alternative fuel company fleets. Beginning in 2007, Metro Cars invested a half-million dollars to convert 75 luxury Lincoln Town Car sedans and 30 airport shuttles to propane. The Detroit area livery service is making the environmental switch with the help of federal tax credits. In 2010, the company partnered with the Clean Energy Coalition, coordinator of the Detroit Clean Cities Coalition, and received a Federal grant that helped to convert 108 vehicles and install propane fueling infrastructure in Grand Rapids.
