This easy build project allows a IR remote control inside the house manually control a solar panel tracker. Remote data is picked up by a photo transistor and data is sent several hundred feet by wire to the control box at the panels. There an IR LED transmits the data to to the IR solar tracker. Can be built with an old remote and photo transistor from an old VCR. It does not have automatic gain control and the photo transistor must be shielded from ambient light.

The 2019 season at camp will create a number of new videos as I put theory to practice. See my prior DIY solar videos for further details.
