Jiko Bomba Renewable Energy Cook Stove

Through US Department of Agriculture Food for Progress funding, Partners for Development (PFD) has developed a gasification cook stove to alleviate the environmental and economic burden of using non-renewable fuel sources (charcoal & firewood).

The Jiko Bomba stove is fueled by renewable biomass pellets (Moto Bomba) made from agricultural residues eliminating rural and urban household reliance on costly and health harming energy supplies that damage the environment. The stove is currently available in Tanzania and costs roughly $23 per stove.
