Energy is a vital part of everybody’s life as it is needed for many activities such as showering, lighting and phone charging. Energy is usually produced by non-renewable sources such as petrol and nuclear which unfortunately create polluting by products. This is the reason the idea of producing energy using a bicycle was put forward. Since there are cycling competition that are conducted throughout the year we could harvest sufficient energy to charge small devices. Also not forgetting that in Amsterdam, Holland we could see the streets packed with bicycles everywhere, and this could an opportunity to harvest free energy.
Bicycles are known to be rich source of kinetic energy, some of which is available for harvesting during speedy and balanced manoeuvres by the user. It is a fact that the energy that is going to be produced could be of low power but it can sufficient enough to charge mobile phone thus by starting with a low scale, gradually the all the non- renewable sources will be replaced with renewable and clean one.
