It is designed for low rpm, but still not enough windings for a VAWT. More windings more voltage. This is a 500 watt design but this VAWT will need a 200 watt design. The new alternator has two stators with coils placed either side of 8 very strong magnets on a rotor. Whereas, the alternator in the video has a single stator and two magnet rotors. Not as much amperage from the new design but very good low cut-in.
