A windmill drives a 100:1 speed reduction gearbox to lift a weight on a pulley. A clutch can be disengaged to allow the weight to fall and produce electricity through a generator.

This prototype is to simulate a mechanical battery by potential energy storage and is the incorporation of a research project to determine whether or not this is a viable solution to the longevity crisis that electrical batteries face, as well as a proper means of storing wind energy to release during the peak hours of the day.
