Hey guys, I think its time for me to get ready for some anthill casting with molten aluminum. And the first thing I have to do is make some aluminum ingots so I can get some pure aluminum metal to be able to use in the anthill art aluminum casting video. A lot of you remember the Bit by fireants video where I kill them with fire and gas right? Well everyone said I should do a molten aluminum casting of a fire ant hill to get rid of them plus I would have a really cool anthill sculpture too. Ok then here is the beginning of me making a backyard foundry and firing up a crucible to melt some soda cans and other aluminum sheeting in to make some ingots in some muffin pans. I am using the in the ground method for the foundry and it works pretty well.

I think I figured out is that you sure need a lot of cans to be able to get a lot of aluminum to make into ingots. This was fun and it actually worked well. I made sure for this video I wore shoes instead of sandals, ouch that fire was hot. Aluminum melts at 1200 degrees in case you didn't know. OK its time to do some casting of a fire ant colony with molten aluminum.Thanks for watching and make sure you check back for the next video where I do some anthill art with some molten aluminum to pour down the fire ant hill.
