A video published recently by NASA shows how the Artic ice has been melting for the last 32 years.
The video shows an animation through time lapse of the evolution of Artic ice from 1984 to 2016. The images reveal that it has been diminishing in surface, thickness and age. NASA explained that “now the ice layer from the sea is more vulnerable to the warming of the ocean and the atmosphere”.
Until now we knew that young ice, or that ice with little years of “age” melted easily during a hot summer. Unfortunately, “old ice” is also disappearing.
