Ocean Energy "Wing Wave" System

Melbourne, Florida - An Ocean Energy Test System dubbed the "Wing Wave" was deployed November 17th just north of Fort Pierce, Florida in 40 feet of water for a three week test by Ocean Engineering Florida Institute of Technology students. This eight-foot-tall, fifteen- foot-wide and twenty-foot-long device weighing 3,500 lbs is the first university test system of its kind utilizing the horizontal component of ocean swells to move the wings like a sea fan.
