Paul and the Combined Heat and Power Plant

Paul is very eager for knowledge, particularly on the topic of energy, and would like to learn as much as possible about it. Therefore, he asks a lot of questions and hopes that he will get easily understandable answers. The Explore House team accompanies Paul in his everyday life and helps him to understand new technologies and complicated processes.

Paul has taken an interest in cogeneration plants, but he does not yet quite understand how they work. A cogeneration plant, which is also called combined heat and power (CHP) plant, is used for the simultaneous production of electricity and useful heat. It can be used in individual households as a micro- or nano-power plant, as well as for power generation on a large scale.

In this video, together with Paul you can take a look at the structure and operating principle of such a power plant.
