Pot Scrubber earth battery ----running a pulse motor

This is a simple zinc & copper earth battery that I made out of common pot scrubbers. The battery is partly burried in my flower bed and is shown running a simple pulse motor. The galvanic battery puts out only about 1/2 a volt but because of the large metal surface areas, there is good amperage. This is the first battery of this type that I have burried in the ground. The old telegraph systems used this idea for power. It will be interesting to see how long this continues to produce electricity. When the zinc coating on the steel scrubber is gone I expect the voltage to drop to about .3 volts. When the soil drys out the galvanic action will slow down or maybe stop. Watering the area should start it back up.
