Tomás Schlichter on Forests and Climate Change Mitigation

The interview was taken at FAO's headquarters, Rome, during the Committee of Forestry (COFO) week, in March 2009. Mr Tomás Schlichter, Chair of the Technical and Academic Committee of the XIII World Forestry Congress, llustrates the carbon absorption role played by Forests. Forests have been recognized to have a central place in vital issues facing societies and in international debate on climate change, energy supplies, land use and changes in such use.
