Voss Electrostatic Generator

Voss machine made from 33 rpm vinyl records. Based on plans from a December 1930 issue of Modern Mechanics and Inventions. I used mahogany and brass, and acrylic tubes for the Leyden jars and provided a switching mechanism for disconnecting the Leyden jars from the circuit - other than that the basic design is the same as the article. In a good dry atmosphere the machine produces strong 1.75 inch sparks.
