This XEE2vids Replication (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6H6wc5JLL28) uses a Hammond 166J12 1A 115VAC - 12.6VAC step down transformer [$16] (reversed as a step up), TIP3055 [$1], Globe Electric 2W 120VAC 120 lumen LED Soft White Chandelier Type B bulb [$8], powered by a single Ultrafire 2400 mAh 3.7v rechargeable lithium ion 18650 style battery [$2]. The circuit, as shown was running 4v / 240mA (.94 watts), and I'm quite sure some tuning will bring that even lower. Ultrafire make a 4000 m/AH battery for $3 incl. shipping, as well. That battery should run this light for approximately 16 hrs! Special thanks to XEE2, Minoly, jonnydavro, and as always The Magneticitist for teaching me this cool and ultrasimple inversion technique. Build one! Very usable, and very easily solar recharged daily - best of all... it's AC, it'll run on a long cord! To put it in a different perspective, a Trojan 6V deep cycle golf/RV battery should run this lamp (even brighter) 24 hours a day, for about 38 days straight.
